About Us

Pelangi Nusantara Wellington is an Indonesian traditional dance club resided in Wellington, New Zealand. The mission is to promote and preserve Indonesian culture of traditional dance in New Zealand.

"Pelangi Nusantara" is roughly translated as "Rainbow of Indonesian Archipelago". Pelangi Nusantara tries to embrace and foster the colours of Indonesia culture consisting of thousands of traditional dances originated from more than 100 sub-ethnic groups spread in more than 17,000 islands.

Indonesia, as we know historically, had been the source of Southeast Asian cultures and influence in the era of Sriwijaya and Majapahit kingdoms from the 7th to 14th centuries.
